I just love to give things away. It is just one more thing to be thankful for. Speaking of being thankful, what are you doing for Thanksgiving? The Fredster is working and we don't really have any plans during the day on Thanksgiving, so this year I finally get to attend Thanksliving at Green in Scottsdale. I've raved about them in a couple of reviews, so you already know the food is going to be good.

What you may not know is that not only will you finally get a Thanksgiving feast that is completely vegan (and delicious), you will also be treated to music, guest speakers and kids crafts. What is also really cool is kids under 12 get a discounted rate of $8.95 per kid! Click here to check out this year's yummy menu!

Here is the really exciting news! I bought an extra ticket to the extravaganza and I want to give it to one of you my fabulous followers. Here is all you have to do: make sure you are already a follower of the blog on blogger (click join this site button on the side bar), then leave a comment on this post about what you are most thankful for (make sure to leave only one comment, duplicates will be deleted). The winner will be drawn at random this Sunday, November 13th. Please make sure to check back to see if you are the winner and good luck!!!

I am thankful for the support I have in my vegan lifestyle. Veganism can be hard on those that don't understand it and I'm fortunate my partner supports my choice 100% and goes out of his way to accommodate my "habits." From finding restaurants where I can eat at to cooking vegan at home, his support I am very thankful for. And for Green being less than a mile down the road from my work!

I am the most grateful for my vegan partner Sean and all the awesome vegan activists out there, who not only set an example by choosing a compassionate lifestyle, but also committed to bettering the world by speaking up for the voiceless. Because of your hard work, motivation and continual support, I made this best, most important life decision/transition and try to outreach to others since I only wish I had known/converted sooner. Thank you to the vegan community. I am forever grateful!

I am most thankful for the encouragement I receive from friends and family. Recently, I moved to Arizona from Ohio - alone. I am going to medical school here and will eventually be a Naturopathic Doctor. It is very difficult to be in a huge new city alone and poor during the holidays. Plus, I am trying to cram a lot of hard-to-learn information in my wee brain. The stress of it all can feel like a ton of bricks on my shoulders. The love and support and encouragement I get from them helps keep me motivated to persevere through these difficult times. Without them, I would be crumbling under the pressure.

I am most thankful for my family, friends, and all of the animals I have been able to save through my ethical, vegan lifestyle. I enjoy advocating for the rights of animals and gaining the support of others. This ThanksLiving, I plan to honor all of the billions of animals whose lives have been taken by greedy humans and corporations. I am very grateful for restaurants like Green who also stand for these values.

I'm most thankful for the activists that recognize that they don't need to only do something that makes them feel good, but they need to something that is going to save the most amount of animals and reduce the most amount of animal suffering. One of the best forms of advocacy is through leafleting. You can learn more at www.veganoutreach.org and read this powerful, inspiring message here: www.veganoutreach.org/meaningfullife.html. I'm therefore extremely thankful for Vegan Outreach's, calm, practical, rational approach to animal advocacy and all the activists out there making a change in the world.

I am thankful for restaurants such as Greens that help prove to people that vegan and vegetarian food can actually taste really good if you give it a try. And I can only hope that more people let down there bias this thanksgiving and make a leap of faith toward a cruelty free lifestyle.

I am thankful for my wonderful supportive, loving family, for good work, good health and great food. I am thankful that I'm probably alive because I haven't eaten meat for almost 40 years.
